Open Question: Can someone help me with my research paper?
I have an essay, but i need at least two websites and one book source to show where i got the information..and i need help putting the citations in the paper, and also putting it in paragraph form...my grandmother has been in the hospital and i have fallen behind on this assignment as well as catching up in every my other classes and i will be grateful with any help i can receive...the assignment is due tomorrow. Please and thank you! Emily Dickinson was a lady who lived in times that are more traditional; her life experiences influence and help us to understand the dramatic and poetic lines in her writing. Although Dickinson’s poetry can often be defined as unhappy and moody, we can find the use of humor and irony in many of her poems. By looking at the humor and sarcasm found in three of Dickinson’s poems, Success Is Counted Sweetest, I am Nobody, and Some keep the Sabbath Going to Church, one can examine each poem show how Dickinson used humor and irony for the dual purposes of comic relief and to stress an idea or conclusion about her life and the environment in the each poem. Emily Dickinson was born in Amherst Massachusetts; a tiny farming town that had a college and a cap factory. There, she was raised in a strict Calvinist household while receiving most of her education at a boarding school that followed the American Puritanical tradition. She seldom left her hometown; virtually, her only contact with her friends came to be made through letters. As a young lady, Dickinson rejected comforting traditions, resisted male authority, and wrestled alone with her complex and often contrary emotions. Although she was claimed to be a high-spirited and active young lady, Dickinson began to withdraw from society in the 1850's. The many losses she experienced throughout her life, the death of her dad, mom, close neighbors, and friends influenced her life largely and led her to write about death to an enormous amount. Dickinson made a few attempts during her life to be taken as more than an amateur poet; on one occasion, she sent a collection of her poems to a correspondent who was a published poet. His criticism of her poetry devastated Dickinson, and she never made another attempt towards publishing her works. Evident through her letters and poems, her poetry records intense devotion, sharp, skeptical independence, doubt, and what repeatedly reflects her happiness and despair. In the poem, Success is Counted Sweetest; Dickinson’s emphasis is less on humor and more on expressing irony. Here it is bitterness expressed towards the status or notion of success that is most felt by the reader as Dickinson reflects on the nature of success and how it can be best appreciated and understood by those who have not achieved it. While the previous poem expresses the poet’s bitterness and sorrow with one aspect of her life, I am Nobody uses humor without irony to address another. In this poem, Dickinson's style appears almost child-like in its of descriptions including frogs and bogs. Dickinson seems to be addressing her spinster, hermit-like existence, and her preference for it. The poet relates through her writing that her situation has not left her without a sense of humor, but in fact has allowed her to maintain a child-like outlook on life rather than adapting to the tedious norms of her society. She mocks the conventional need for self-importance through publicity suggesting that the audience is not that interested by creating the mysterious feeling of an arcane society of social outcasts. In this poem, she effectively uses humor to soften a critique of elite members of her society. In addition, in the poem Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church, she questions the sincerity of those who attend church on Sunday on a customary basis. Through the use of comparing the formalities of church with her possess celebration of the Sabbath through the appreciation of nature, Dickinson casually suggests that those in attendance at church may not be as sincere in their worship as she is. Dickinson ridicules the congregation as she accuses them of attending merely for show and to gain status in the community. Also, she argues with the notion that attending church alone will guide towards salvation, suggesting that it is her possess actions of finding God in nature that will guide to the path of redemption. The humor in this poem is not as explicit as in the other poems discussed, nor is the irony as directly expressed as in Success is Counted Sweetest. The reader can sense Dickinson's sarcasm in the opening lines of Some Keep the Sabbath going to Church - / I keep it staying home”, and will react to its most definitive form in the closing lines of “So instead of getting to Heaven, at last – I’m going, every along.” While the descriptive are humorous, Dickinson appears to be confessing her possess individual, private communion with God to the reader. Thus she does not emphasize the humor in the comparison of the objects in order not to trivializ

Open Question: How can you get a job/move on with your life if you haven't worked alot, and have a bad resume?
I've always been pretty well off and provided for but really have rather tiny resume full of patches of not doing anything at every. I've travelled, been able to store till I dropped and lived my life up. However, professionally I'm nowhere. My resume sucks, and I only have a handful of jobs I did in high school or college but never did anythig afterwards and that was years ago, nothing serious, and a really really long gap in employment. I wasn't really raised to be a career person,or care about my resume or try to "always" work. I never even thought that we always had to be employed continulously, otherwise people looked at us as weird. I never really felt like I belonged in this system, or had it work for me, or even cared. But I'm in my mid 20s now, and I obviously don't want to end up being a complete loser, and definitely want to start my professional life. The good news is that I do have plenty of friends/connections, and things I've done, activity/club/organization wise and I finished college, but the bad news is that I was a spoiled brat with no great work history. I'm also aware that the older I receive and don't work, the more horrible it will look. However, I have ALOT of real fears about work, fear of the workplace/anxieties about it, social issues, and even bipolar stuff, which I obviously would NEVER tell my employer. But truth be told, I have one of those fear of success things, and I always kept myself from doing anything. I'm going to finally seek help with this but I'm feeling suicidal because I feel like a failure with a horrible resume. What can I do, and is there wish for me, to start my lfie up in this age of my life? Or will I have to live with the fact that I'll always have a shitty resume and that I'm a loser? I don't want to live with that so I might as well commit suicide if that were the case. i'm just really scared because I don't know why I'm so afraid of a career but at the same time I want one. I've had horrible panic/anxiety/bipolar episodes and extreme work trauma when I was young, abuse/etc, that left me hospitalized, and I've never mentally recovered, and i've always been afraid of jobs, especially nowadays that they're clip throat. The GOOD news is that I have alot of money and am well taken care of, i even have great life insurance policiesthanks to my partner and parents, but I"m nothing more than a homemaker/housewife type. I'm gay, have a partner. I have well off frends and live the good life, but feel totally useless and worthless, and just...depressed with myself. I want to amount to more but I have huge issues and I need help. I also don't consider the entertinment industry/acting/modelling/music to really be serious career work, since I've had some ties in with that. I posted this in the psychology section because...I think it's a psychological issue!

Open Question: Where does self esteem come from ?
I've met guys who are super successful in their careers but I can tell they have low self esteem becuz they are not successful in relationships with women. One director of an investment bank complained that he is lonely and he's not very popular. So I do not think self esteem completely comes from achievements or success. Does self esteem arrive from childhood relations with peers ? Are people who were popular as kids better off in life as adults too ?

Open Question: Please I Must Help IN grammar english plzzzz?
can you fix the mistakes and improve the text? i mean high words like that... McDonald's was founded in 1940, when brothers Dick and Mac McDonald opened a restaurant named as their families. In 1948 the two have created a "quick service system", innovative, established the foundation quick Food Restaurant The success of the new method was giant, and almost doubled the revenues of the restaurant and made a big interest in the world. Concessionaire of the first two, Neil Fox, was the model for every restaurants brothers on the network, also designed the wake of the seller's company logo with the Golden arches. You can explain the success of McDonald's stems from several key reasons the first of which is the low prices of the food web restaurants. These occur first in the United States. Another explanation of the success of the company may be to keep things simple the uniqueness of preparing the food and the selection. In McDonald's the buyers could pick from a variety of tiny, clear and known in advance of the items, allowing buyers quickly and easily select the items you want. The uniqueness also helped lower costs by decreasing the preparation of food in the restaurant's dramatic staff required maintenance. Here too, imitation method by other companies and network game to a big extent, the advantage of McDonald's. Open Question: Why are the Detroit Pistons going to have Lebron James?
With the trade for Iverson and the release of Rasheed next year the Pistons now have the cap space for Lebron. It is argued that Knicks, Nets, and Pistons are the contenders. I would argue that Lebron James has the best chance of winning with the Pistons. The NYC media will convincingly sell him on fame and fortune but have nothing to show for themselves(every Hype). No significant playoff success and cracked management. LeBron comes from a blue collar town Akron, OH and if he is true to himself he will realize that fame and fortune is vanity. Being with a dignified and consistent winning organization below the leadership of JOE DUMARS is a better fit. They won a championship(2004) without a Hall of Famer and 3 in the past 25 years, have 7 straight Eastern Conference appearances(With Dartko...No Bosh, Wade, or Anthony. Sorry Joe). With Lebron they will win 5 or 6 championships in a 12 year period (KOBE will retire in 8 years..Lebron will be uncontested ). New York, New Jersey. These teams are for high profile show boaters and individual talents while Detroit is about difficult work, team play, and zero glory. Lebron will never be as famous as Micheal Jordan or make his money. Unless you are tiger woods, you have zero chance of making a Billion dollars. The wealthy CEO's and team owners will always have more money and power. Lebron is a basketball player and will never have a King's fame and fortune. The best he can do is leave his mark on basketball with championships, MVP awards, and scoring titles. The books don't recall his earnings or fame.

Open Question: I am looking for a versatile steam cleaner that can do floors as well as detail kitchen and bathroom cleaning.?
I have looked at several steam cleaners. I need one that will do a great job on tile, hardwood and carpet. The Haan supposedly leaves the carpet dry, and I like that very much. It also has an optional short handle that allows you to clean upholstery and bedding---something that I need for a child who has asthma. But it doesn't seem to do the detail bathroom and kitchen cleaning that I am also looking for. A pal who has one of the Monsters swears by its ability to clean the kitchen. She even steam cleans the inside of her oven with it. I need a product that does both detail cleaning and floors. Does anyone have any success stories? I am a single, working mom. The cleaner needs to be affordable and easy to use.

Open Question: Is Philosophy a waste of time?
I have noticed lately that I have been thinking way too much- about everything. The way I saw my thinking was like discovery. I would stumble upon ideas that I had never thought about before. But, then I noticed... In order to think so much you need the time to do it. While thinking, I also had many many tasks. But, instead I drove deeper and deeper within my mind searching and discoverying, learning and dreaming. The result? In a way I am very enlightened. I have learned a lot about myself, surroundings, life and much more. But in reality every of that does not matter. I need to live life and in order to do so, I need the monetary wealth. It does not arrive from thinking, but rather from working. So while thinking was extremely beneficial to me, it doesn't serve me much in the future. Than, I even thought further. What about other philosophers, real philosophers? Well, they too must have had a lot of time to think. Which means, that the did not work, or work very much. Within that respect, I tend to find philosophy a waste of time. While I thought that the thinking and the philosophical outlook would improve me, and give me new insight, it turns out that it rather impedes me and my future. My thinking is my worst foe, because it prevents the doing. So now, I will be doing instead of thinking. I know that I will miss much learning about myself and my surroundings, but that is okay. It is okay because at the end of my life, I will achive tangeble success rather than just houghts that will fade upon my death. Although typing the thoughts will guide to the immortality of them, it does not help me in any way. Thus today, is the day I say good bye to philosophy. It is weird. It was like yesterday that I was introduced to it, and said hi philosophy. And it seems like the very next day, I say bye philosophy. I am 18 and am learning so much, and do reshape my thinking very much. Lol, my friends notice it also, they perhaps think I am bipolar... In reality, I strive to do different things, push myself. Anyways this will be the last time that I think philosophically, question things, etc. It is nice to have someone read this, and hear your viewpoint. Although the question has a different tone, once I started thinking about it, it pains me to say goodbye, but I know that it is the right thing. So good bye Philosophy, you were my first true adore, my queen...

Resolved Question: What if the Mongol invasions never occurred?
Would the world be ruled by the Chinese? My theory is, because of the suppression of civilised organisation of big cities and such, technological advancements by the Chinese would have been difficult during that time of Mongol rule. Also, without the Silk Road, the trade of gun power and firearms would have not occurred with the European nations, as firearms and explosives originated in China. So an industrial revolution and invasions by the English, French, Spanish and Portuguese wouldn't have occurred without guns. flame arms may have existed in these nations due to the obtaining of that technology over time, but they wouldn't have been as proficient as they were because they didn't receive this technology early enough to develop them to a great extent. And to go up against a very populated, and technologically advance nation for that time such as China would have been futile. So right now, I'm starting to think that Mandarin may have been the staple international language if the Mongols never invaded, or at least, weren't success full. I want to know what you guys think. I'm rather fascinated with world history, and would like your opinions on this "what if" scenario. NOTE: I'm not Chinese, so I'm not just trying to hype up how "great" China is.

Open Question: Help Help Help. I need your personal opinion. Help?
For my Society and Culture PIP (Personal Interest Project) we have to - here's the surprise - pick a personal interest to do a research project on. Bet you never saw that coming. But here's my problem; I have no idea what to do! So far - General area of topic, and my personal interest: Pop bands, and how they are influenced by traditional culture. I have a adore of both American and Korean pop music, and have noticed how similar, yet different, they sound. Wondered about conformity and loyalty conflict. Specific topic statement or question: Is current pop music connected to traditional roots? Specific aims of research and goals: To discover if Current pop music has specific traditional roots, and is influenced more by it's past or gift. Also to find the way current music influences each other across the world. To determine how much the Asian music scene is suffering from Westernization. How my topic related to 3-4 specific Society and Culture concepts: My topic relates to continuity and change, tradition, identity, and westernization Cross cultural perspective of my topic: I am using both the Western (America) and Asian (Korea) worlds to maintain a crossed perspective. Primary and secondary methodologies I think I shall use: Survey - to discuss the awareness of Asian Vs American pop music scene. To find connections with older music. Case study - Possibly. to find the fame and independence levels of bands. Find roots of the music style. Statistical analysis - Finding what money has to do with it, a ratio of who listens to Western versus Asian, has business success gone up with the rush of pop music Personal Reflection - Well, I always have valued my possess opinion Secondary Research - To give it more bulk So that's about it. Only, I'm not sure that if in 3 terms (ie, the forever that comes too soon) I will have good enough info on this? My interesta are mainly - Korean pop music, artists such as Super Junior, DBSK, SHINee, Shinhwa, Ha Dong Kyun and BoA. American music, with artists such as Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is..., Panic At The Disco, Jonas Brothers and The Audition. The way music relates and connects people regardless of barriers that may be formed in other means of communication (Like, I know about 10 words in Korean. Max. But I adore the music. Still stuck in the 90's) So ok, I know this question is kinda long, but if you have any suggestions, be it fixing up details or changing my topic completely, please receive back to me. Is there anyway YOU could improve this? I failed Yr11, I don't want Yr12 to be a repeat. Star xx

Open Question: What do you think of this introduction? Can you give me tips on how to improve it?
OK, so this is a history essay on the Russian Revolution. I wouldn't think you would need to know anything about the events, so if you have any tips on how to write decent intros and on how to improve this one, please help. Thanks :) 'The Bolshevik Revolution of October 1917 had many consequences over what would happen to the fate of the world. From that month, Communists would guide Russia with Lenin as its leader. There are many reasons why this coup d’etat was possible for the Bolsheviks, the main reasons being the failure of the Provisional Government, and the successes of the Bolshevik party. Within these two categories, there are many sub-categories, the most prominent of which I would believe to be the policies of the Bolshevik party, the policies of the Provisional Government, and also the mistakes of the Provisional Government, every of which are to be explained in this essay. Open Question: Should I try REAL ALOE VERA (from plant) on my facial eczema?
I'd like to know how many eczema sufferers, especially has it on the face, has tried real Aloe Vera from plant with success? I'm not talking about Aloe Vera lotions or creams but the real Aloe Vera from plant. By the way, I've posted this question last night, hoping to seek help from people what to do next. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Au9szA.LQow3bDn810tqL_vsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081130041638AAZEfQF After today's consultations with both the dermatologist and private doctor, I've finally given up on every them, especially the dermatologist. every he does was telling me that if I don't want to use steroid cream, then it's a must to put moisturizer cream on my face frequently and the familiar advise that every eczema sufferers will recognise. Since I've spend so much money on them, I might as well find a cure for myself. Don't tell me there's no cure for eczema, I've given up on dermatologist but I have never given up wish to find a cure for eczema, I believe there must be a cure for eczema. I don't believe that the popular incurable diseases are incurable. Believing in incurables is unscientific, and believing in incurables is more like a fanatic religion. What is worse is believing in incurable diseases is a self fulfilling superstition.

Open Question: NHL: Joey MacDonald could this be the Isle's answer?
Now that JoeMac is handling the pipes on the Island on a stellar note, can we expect DP to be traded for firepower, or maybe Mac will be a suitable bargaining tool? That plus free agency and a Red Bull for Garth Snow could equal success? Feelings?

Open Question: Hetero-Supremacists who voted for prop 8, which case scenario is a worse way to raise children?
Ok, a question.. which of these scenarios is a worse off upbringing for a child. I do not intend in any way to suggest either of these scenarios as the standard, just attempting to prove a point about... you will look when they start answering. Also, this is in R&S because hetero-supremacists declared marriage/adoption by gays as a religious issue. I adhere to your philosophy for now and post here, though I feel that would be like deer adhering to a lions philosophy. 1. A kids raised up by two cared and attentive same sex married couple. The kids always have homework help, and have a chance at success in the first time in their life, and are thankful to not being bounced around in the system for their entire lives due to the neglect of a straight couple. The child/kids are taught cleanliness, good grades, treating others the way you want to be treated, and always have two caring parents looking after them. 2. A child raised up in a trailer by emotionally and physically abusive parents. They are woken up early every sunday for church, and after that are forced to care for their little brothers and sisters so the parents don't have to, and so they can just make more kids. They are in the process of having their fourth kid, and gave up on tending to good grades a long time ago. You can always tell the good questions when they go by without a single answer from the intended audience. That means they know their answer, but secretly know how bigoted and ridiculous it is :P Interesting, so the troll with 666 atheist in her name says gays are "nasty." Guess what bigot, they would outlaw names like yours when they took over.

Open Question: Is Barack Obama a Radical Socialist ?
As self-anointed lecturer-in-chief and secular American messiah, it's he and only he, don't you know, that knows THE answer? For every its purported savvy, team Obama appears to never have contemplated it would actually have to answer questions relating to who Obama is or pre-tends to be--questions about his character, associations, judgment, politics, elitism, inexperience, ignorance of economics and international affairs, left-ism, disdain for unborn life, inherent racism and bitterness and fatigued po-litical solutions. As for something new in his campaign, how about this: Obama actu-ally explains who he is, what he stands for and why, and what he means by "change"? Almost forgot: How it is that his legislative record, especially the U.S. Sen-ate, shows essentially no bipartisanship, but that of consistent liberal/leftist voting and betrayal of agreements he has made across the aisle. Respectfully, given his remarks after the Pennsylvania primary, that chal-lenges to his character as well as political and cultural mind-sets are mere distractions and should be off limits, I think he's too narcissistic--and, frankly, too woefully unaware--to grasp how truly out of sync he is with most Americans. He is and remains a counterfeit. And no amount of window dressing or tweaking now will undo that. Not even replacement of his political glass jaw will help, either. Obama's desperate desire to belong' - in the White home - is about ambition ultimately and involves, as with any other politician, espousing any issues, any cause, any social group - in order to receive power. It is as cynical as that. He has almost zero experience in actual government of any political unit. He is, however personally charming, a young, excruciatingly naive left-wing ideologue - not an experienced, practical and wise government administrator and leader with a successful track record. I think that if his motives had been as crassly opportunistic as that he would have been more alert to the dangers that Mr Wright's sermons represented to him. Surely he would have seen that when a pastor starts urging his followers from the pulpit to sing "God damn America" instead of "God bless America", the only place for an aspiring politician is out the door. Obama fans, we are in awe of your insightuflness, your vision, your eloquence. You fairly judge every issues without regard to party or personal allegiance and your compassion and desire to hear and weigh every sides of an issue is an inspiration. A paragon, nearly a saint! Naive. Vague. Arrogant. Deceitful. Confused. Narcissitic. Dishonest. Incompetent. Inexperienced. Will lift taxes. Married to Michelle. Will punish success. Will expand government. Will weaken national security. No record of bipartisianship. Ever. Longtime supporter of difficult-left hate. More popular in France than in America. Clapping in Jeremiah's pews for 20+ years. Likes to play race games to paint himself a victim. Takes both sides of every issue, stands for nothing. Loved by terrorists and America-haters around the world. Cancels visit with wounded soldiers for hoops at Ritz Carlton. Full of Socialist ideas for change and ready to roll on day one. God Bless America, Israel and George W Bush the greatest President this country will ever know, ever...

Open Question: what do you think of my UC personal statement?
What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field - such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities - and what you have gained from your involvement. Seven years ago, my mom found out I was accepted to the Van Nuys medical magnet program. It was one of the happiest days of her life. However, she was quick to realize that I showed no promise in that field. I really showed no promise in any academic field at every. My ignorance was perhaps an obstacle that nobody, including my mom, could overcome. I could not say that I was a bad student. I performed just enough to pass my classes and graduate the magnet program. However, long term success from such a rigorous program required more effort and a lot of commitment. Today, when I tell friends and family that I intend on studying biochemistry at the university level, I am putting my family’s reputation at a great risk. Before I was to graduate from high school, I was required to complete 40 hours of volunteer work at a medical related facility. I was given an opportunity to fulfill those requirements at a dental office. I was surprised to learn that the dentist, Arsen Kalpakchian, also did not perform well in school either. I formed a strong connection with Arsen during the latter years in my high school. Since I was supposed to graduate in June, I began attending community college in the spring semester of that same year. I did so in order to compensate for my lack of units in high school. Much to my teacher’s and counselor’s surprise, I am proud to say that I took advantage of my opportunity and received fairly decent grades from Valley College in Spring. I had also fulfilled my volunteering hours in order to graduate from high school. I graduate high school indeed and enrolled myself in college. As a result of my newly formed friendship with the dentist, I declared a major in biology at Valley College with the intentions of being a dentist. My interests in the field of biochemistry are relatively recent. My visions of studying a course of that magnitude is not a glamorized one. I have spent 300 working hours volunteering for a doctor who holds a bachelors degree in biochemistry. I am confident that I will be humbled by the level of commitment involved. However, I am certain that I will not be overwhelmed. I can sincerely say, that to this day, every the classes I have ever taken at the college level were mainly due to my personal curiosity. I firmly believed that if I succeeded in a certain class, I would go on to take the next course in that subject until I was exhausted. Of course, I’m not willing to convince my parents to commit a big sum of money in order for me to satisfy my curiosity alone. But as long as I hold more questions than answers, I am confident that my parent’s expense towards my education will be a wise economy.

My pitbull has a bad ear infection with brown yuckky crud in her ear. Her ear sticks and I have tried taking her to vets, trying petsmart meds, trying home remedies. I thought maybe someone else had expeceinceed this and could share their success stories or remedies to help my needy pitbull cease shaking her ear like crazy! Mercedes THANKS YOU in advance YAHOOERS! I have been to the vet so please do not tell me this. The vet has already done culture tests and her solutions have not fixed anything only temp. solutions that cost a ton! Not ear mite, it is a yeast infestion and I have already determined this! I dry ears after bathing, use ear solution from her vet, have tried differant solutions too, I have even done every the food allegy testing and skin testing for allergies.
